Activating an SFPTotal programmer
To control unauthorized use and support the warranty policy, SFPTOTAL programmers are supplied in an unactivated mode with limited functionality. In this mode you can test device operation, but writing to transceiver memory remains blocked until the device is activated.
To enable full functionality, issue an activation key and enter it into the device.
Where can I find the activation key?
The activation key is unique to each programmer and becomes available in the My devices section of your website account after completing the purchase.
If you purchased the device through another channel, register on the website and add the programmer serial number to your account in My devices to obtain the corresponding key.
How do I enter the activation key?
In the official software, run the Write to transceiver memory operation, even if no transceiver is connected to the port. On the first write attempt, the device returns an error and prompts for an activation key. QERR:DEMO
Enter the activation key in the prompt. After successful activation, the device reports its updated status and device information in the operation history. Activation is now complete. ACTIVE

Device activation is performed once. The key is stored permanently in device memory and does not bind the programmer to a particular computer. You do not need to repeat activation when using the programmer with another PC.
Where can I find the key for SFPTotal Whistle?
SFPTotal Whistle programmers are supplied with a key already stored in device memory. An Internet connection is required to complete activation in SFPTotal Wizard.
SFPTotal Whistle activation must be confirmed on each computer when it is used for the first time.
