A device for programming the memory of SFP, DSFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP transceivers, including 1.25G SFP, 10G SFP+, 25G SFP28, 40G QSFP+, 100G QSFP28, 200G QSFP56, 200G QSFP-DD, 400G QSFP-DD, 50G DSFP, 100G DSFP, 400G OSFP, 800G OSFP, DAC, AOC and SFP RJ45.
The programmer has DSFP/SFP and QSFP-DD ports for double-density transceivers with backward compatibility with SFP28 and QSFP28, and an OSFP port for 400G/800G transceivers used in storage and artificial intelligence (AI) systems.
The programmer uses a proprietary command protocol and is fully compatible with the official SFPTotal Wizard software.
The kit includes an E series programmer board, a USB type C cable for connection to a computer and a user guide.
The SFPTotal E>olution team researches compatibility and use of high-speed optical transceivers with network switching equipment in fibre-optic communications, data storage and artificial intelligence systems, and develops new solutions for testing and coding optical transceivers.
The SFPTotal E series programmer is a universal device for programming the memory of DSFP, SFP, SFP+, QSFP+, QSFP-DD and OSFP transceivers, including SFP RJ45, AOC, DAC, SFP28, QSFP28, QSFP56, QSFP112, OSFP-IHS and OSFP-RHS.
The device supports password-based programming of write-protected transceivers in accordance with MSA SFF-8472, SFF-8636, CMIS 4.0 and CMIS 5.0. Script-based writing also supports modules with complex proprietary manufacturer algorithms and hardware write protection.
The device has DSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP ports with metal cages, a USB connector for a PC, LED indicators, jumpers controlling power and signal states, a jack connector for an external 5V 2A DC power supply and a connector for a laboratory power supply.
The programmer connects to a computer through a USB type C cable, which provides basic power and device control. Its hardware platform uses an ATMEGA32U4 microcontroller running the embedded SFPTOTAL programmer firmware.
An external power adapter is recommended when working with Power Class 4 or higher transceivers and when disabling low-power mode.
Compared with alternative products, the SFPTotal E series programmer offers the following advantages:
The programmer can be used for the following tasks:
Connect the programmer to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The operating system detects a new device on the first connection. Before using the programmer:
The device uses the standard virtual serial port driver included with Windows 10 and later.
SFPTotal Wizard provides an interface for editing, reading and writing firmware in transceiver memory. No initial configuration is required: SFPTotal Wizard automatically detects a programmer connected to the PC.
Some Windows versions require a restart after driver installation for the virtual serial port driver to work correctly.
The manufacturer supplies the device in an unactivated mode with limited functionality. You can test device operation, but writing to transceiver memory remains blocked until activation.
To enable full functionality, activate the device by writing an activation key to its memory.
Owners of original devices can register on the website and issue an activation key in the My devices section of their account. When ordering through the website, the device serial number and activation key become available in the account automatically.
The device is covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty policy.
The programmer warranty is 36 months from the date of first sale. Free technical support and free repairs are provided during this period, subject to compliance with the operating conditions.
